firstly: if you guys could start calling me "eren" instead of "dox" then that would be cool! i'm still getting used to it, but i think it'll be for the better.

secondly: man, another unproductive month for art. kind of a mix of not feeling like it, and then being too busy when i DO feel like it.

i need to draw belle more because i don't know how to draw her

SPEAKING OF unfinished art, i cleaned out my unfinished folder since it had a lot of junk in it that i was never gonna finish, and all it was doing was taking space and makin' me guilty. so i wound up deleting pretty much all of it!

however, i put (most of) the things in a big huge collage for you guys. it was a huge relief to get all this out! i like the picture of the anime guy with the pipe, because i remember thinking it was the COOLEST THING I'VE EVER DRAWN and now it looks so dated hahaha
fun fact, though: that picture was actually a precursor to this, which wasn't done much later at all, if i remember right (i was 16 when i did that). style development is weird.

cool news:

supercharitygo now has a tumblr! it won't move there or anything, but it will get updates there so as to give it another venue to hopefully(???) attract more people. the lj community itself also underwent a makeover to get rid of that lame default layout. i'm thinking i'll tweak the icons/profile a bit to make it more matchy. ALSO, i made the profile more concise so it's less intimidating for newcomers. ALSO ALSO, people can now do smut because nobody actually cared about that rule (i was just worried about like real people posting their webcam tits or whatever, and i don't know why i didn't think of just going "hey don't do that" in the first place).

Just a suggestion though, Eren! (Wow I'm gonna get used to that.) Aiken and I think that the colors and even the simpler banner of the tumblr layout (bg, and all) look much nicer and easier on the eye c: If it's okay? It'd make both accounts more consistent with each other as well and not get people confused?

and haha he also asked if our community icon is like our logo or something (GOD I AM SO SORRY we're like being drilled with marketing classes and all this advertising design and alksdjlaksjdlkasjd for all our years of college life IT'S COMING OUT), because if so, he suggested maybe we could experiment (not necessarily this year) with having a bg similar to that? with silhouettes of people FISTPUMPING or something (i'm assuming that means it's a static/non-moving bg) so that it's consistent with the logo/icons? (something like this, he made A tiny mock-up though I personally envisioned just silhouettes of fists hahahaha what's with me)

My only sliiight but pretty not-that-bad fear (seriously, it's just college classes augh) is that our 8-bit look will make people mistake us for one of those charity drives where dudes play a marathon of games with no break and webcast it or something video-game related only? But I think it could work, if we try to work our 'image' around "charity can be fun" or something? (Since, technically, we're an art-based one of allll forms?)

I wonder if we can combine both themes, or focus on one (like, yeah, the silhouette+orange comic bg+heart, or primarily video game)? Though, focusing on just one is easier. BUT I do like the idea of it being 'fun like a game' HMMMM.

SORRY TO BURST IN AND PISS ALL OVER THE PLACE BUT
you guys have cool ideas so imade a few tweaks to the easily reversible parts for now. we'll see what eren thinks later for the other stuff!

THE TWEAKS ARE HERE NOW i'd only intended the me fiddling to be a temporary thing lol i left that up too long
BUT YEAH we'll probably change the userpics rather than the background and banner

in retrospect the fists look more like punching than fistpumping WE'RE...WE'RE PUNCHING POVERTY!!

wellll actually i don't really consider the icon to be the logo or anything--do we even have a logo?--which is why i mentioned that i was going to change it when i had more time, so that it'd match what i had.

re: 8-bit art... maybe? i really just liked the effect it gave and thought it would be something widely appealing and fun (tbh i was getting tired of the EXTREME!!1 ORANGE AND BLACK FISTS thing and felt like it had narrow appeal). i'm not really worried about people mistaking the tumblr for something else, since it says right under that it's for everything, but do you think we should put a blurb somewhere on the main journal page? it does say on the profile, though.

oh yeah, and we were actually trying to make the two places match, but not like, overmatch? it's pretty much the same layout/logo/etc, just with a different color scheme.
